Earlier Men using it for textile printing with unique colors and patterns.But nobody knows How the wooden block prepared and How It use for Printing purpose over textile products.

Historically Wooden Block Print is as old as Mohan-Jodero & Harappa Culture.
Here I would like to share main use of wooden blocks preparation and use of blocks for printing purpose. Wooden block preparation having different stages from Tracing to carving. Here I’m only trying to share small detail:-
- Wooden Stamp Tracing Over Raw Wooden Stamp
Above Picture showing Tracing of required pattern over wooden raw block and somewhere you can see some carving has been done. Tracing is done with small iron niddle tool which make sharp and clear tracing over wooden raw block. During the tracing it is very important that the required pattern will be repeat while printing so repeat point should be marked.
- Wooden Carving around tracing
After tracing next process starts for wood carving. Carving process lieu for removing extra unwanted wood area. In which extra wood carved around tracing like shown in images.
- After Carving Unfinishied Wooden Block
Tracing & Carving process having lots of time accordingly design pattern and thickness or thiner block. Normally one single motif block having 1-2 days for carving process. If A pattern having 4 colours means 4 wooden block will develop for printing process. That’s why 4 wooden blocks preparation time will consume minimum 6-8 days.
During the carving process, depth of wooden carved area and block impression is most important factor and causes best/poor printing impression.
- Finalizing Wooden Block
Tracing, Carving and Digging process occurs a smart creation of wood. After finishing wood carving area final output comes in the form of An Ancient and Ethnic wood staff in the shape of natural creation of god.
